I simply had to smile (and take a second look!) when I saw this product in Shopwise a few months ago. The label said Bread Spread but it was packaged in what looked like a shampoo/conditioner container. There's no way this thing is getting into my bathroom. Or else I'd surely feel the urge to squirt the container and then my hair will smell like pesto :) At only P75, McCormick Bread Spread is cheaper than a bottle of conditioner. Months after I spotted it in the grocery, am glad to say that I've tasted all three variants. Garlic tastes like the real thing. Pesto ... Continue Reading...
Late night chow at Sensei Sushi Bar
I was ready to ignore this sushi bar in BF Homes Paranaque until I read something about it. I knew the spot since it used to be occupied by Serenitea, until the latter got bigger and moved to a more spacious location. Anyway, this Sensei looked dark yet welcoming. Hubby doesn't like it when the menu doesn't have pictures of the food, but I love how this blackboard made me feel like I was ordering food from the classroom :) Add to this a library. If I owned this resto, I'd get nervous if diners squirreled away any of my cookbooks. On the table: ... Continue Reading...
The King & I at Resorts World Manila
Another world-acclaimed musical is put on a spotlight at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila with the staging of "The King & I." We were able to watch a preview of the show last Saturday and here's why it's a must-see when it opens on September 15: - all star, talented cast led by Miss Saigon veterans Monique Wilson and Leo Valdez essaying the roles of Anna and the King - fantastic costumes designed by Rajo Laurel - fabulous stage and set designs. Here's a picture I got from from that day's press preview. Not so close up because we ... Continue Reading...
Swiss food festival at The Peninsula Manila slated on August 2 to 11
I have a confession to make: the lobby of The Peninsula in Makati is my favorite of all the hotel lobbies in Manila. It may not be the newest or the grandest (because the threat of something grander than the other will always come along), but there's just something about it which takes me to another world. Something here which makes me want to spend afternoon tea with my closest friend. Our chatter may be meaningless but at least I'll be relishing the ambiance and of course their famous house treats like halo-halo. I've always been a Pen passerby but recently, I ...
