It seems the hot trend for TV now is 3D. This makes the $2000 LCD TV we bought back in 2009 obsolete. If you're shopping for a new boob tube, it's worth looking at what market leader LG has to offer in terms of next generation 3D TVs. First you gotta have 3D glasses. LG claims their Cinema 3D glasses are light and do not need batteries or charging. They also use Film Patterned Retarder (FPR) technology that do not make one dizzy the longer you use. There's a polarized film on the TV screen to deliver different images for the left and right eyes. The images jive with ... Continue Reading...
Galaxy S II is the latest Samsung Android phone
Galaxy S II, Samsung's much-awaited Android phone, will officially be available in the Philippines next month or June 2011. I first saw this phone last month. Head to head with the LG Optimus 2X and Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, some people are actually saying that Samsung's Galaxy S II is the best of the bunch. Let's see :D At first glance, what impressed me most was the ultra-crisp screen display. Not surprising since the phone boasts of super AMOLED plus screen. Images, as seen by the human eye, are clearer than ever before. ... Continue Reading...
Hello Kitty cake, Princess cupcakes & Lucia’s 1st birthday at The Creamery
Our youngest child Lucia celebrated her birthday recently. There's so much to be thankful for her first year: her two front teeth, being able to walk and talk a few words, continuing to be a healthy and a happy baby! We decided to splurge a little on a children's party at The Creamery. Well, I think "splurge" isn't really the word since the venue wasn't a five star hotel. The Creamery is an ice cream parlor at the Mall of Asia and we held the party there because of their reasonable rates which already included the party banner, theme decor, balloon set up, ... Yummy Eats at the Fort: all the good things!
I was excited to attend the YUMMY Eats food fair at The Fort over the weekend, mostly because I knew the vendors would be among the best this city has to offer. Glad to say I wasn't disappointed. Thumbs up to the zoning of the event venue, the NBC Tent, on the big day because it wasn't crowded and stifling. The Yummy Magazine team carefully picked the 31 food retailers who would sell their products that day, with a little bit of everything to sample from each category - from drinks to cakes to the ultimate tummy fillers like lechon. I ended up buying the ... Continue Reading...
Sebastian’s champorado & tibok tibok ice cream: Must. Eat. NAO!
Whenever I want to indulge in ice cream, I go local. Am through with my Ben & Jerry's phase, right now it's Sebastian's. I visit their Cold Comfort outlet at the Mall of Asia once every four months (maybe) but always there are exciting new flavors to discover. Like Fro-Ya (or Frozen Yakult), Frozen Taho, Butter Pecan, Chocoholics Anonymous and so on. Last week I went crazy over their blue cheese ice cream (P125 for a scoop) drizzled with Palawan honey. One good thing with Sebastian's ice cream, when they say blue cheese, it's really blue cheese. I nibbled on the ... Continue Reading...
