The CLEAR event was a good excuse to check out Midas Hotel where Piolo and Bea Alonzo held their presscon. I've been curious about Midas which was formerly the Hyatt Regency hotel along Roxas Boulevard, until the family of Jose Mari Chan (the singer) decided to sell it to new owners. Hyatt was popular during its heyday and one of my last memories of the place was having lunch with a fortuneteller at the Tempura Misono. I forgot his name now, but he was good! At a press event last week, I had my hair analyzed via a tool that set off an image of my scalp on the computer. Being a very busy person, taking care of my hair is something I take for granted, preferring to do my hair spas at home rather than the salon. I honestly thought I would fare low in the scalp test they asked me to take via a set of questions. Turns out am normal and have in fact healthy hair! I got hold (rather belatedly) of Preview magazine's latest issue with Shalani Soledad on the cover.Preview is one of my fave mags from Summit, aside from Yummy, and I always try to buy every month. Shalani, on the other hand, is one of the most searched terms on this blog. It's no wonder then that she emerged No. 1 in Google Philippines' list of 20 Most Influential Women last year, edging out the likes of Kris Aquino & Ruffa Gutierrez. Not everything you read in the newspapers is true. Having worked in the industry myself, I know for a fact that stories are sometimes "planted" to lobby for something, influence public opinion or favor a high-spending advertiser. And now it seems Facebook has been caught with its pants down when it was identified as the one "feeding" anti-Google stories to the media. The ultimate Katy Perry concert experience with Hotmail!
Katy Perry has been staying Down Under the past two weeks and will be performing again in Sydney tonight and Brisbane tomorrow (May 15) to round up her California Dreams tour in Oz and NZ. We were able to catch her first concert in Brisbane last May 5 and it was an extraordinary experience.
