Bistro Coron & other food treats in an island-town

January 4, 2010 ·

Mainly, what made our trip to Coron, Palawan enjoyable was that I wasn't prepared for the quality of the food that awaited us here. It was simply superb! Bistro Coron has been popular with tourists and I must say they deserve the positive reviews. Dining at the bistro is one of the reasons why I want to go to Coron a second time. Too bad I didn't get into the habit of memorizing the menu, being on honeymoon mode, LOL. But just to give you an idea, here's what a divine breakfast at Bistro Coron looks like , at P250 or so. Nothing makes a more perfect morning than a ... Continue Reading...

Coron Gateway Hotel

January 1, 2010 ·

As I said, even on a lean month like September, lodgings in a tourist town like Coron were fully-booked, especially popular ones like the Village Lodge and the overrated Sea Dive. So we ended up in the most expensive place, the Coron Gateway Hotel which was on its soft opening at that time. This was located in a nondescript building that looked more like an office than anything. The room cost us P3,500 a night, but we were certainly satisfied when we saw it. I liked its interiors, and an LCD TV wasn't something I expected to find in a provincial hotel. We also ... Continue Reading...

Coron, Palawan travel tips and mini guide

December 30, 2009 ·

Truth to tell, Coron in Palawan was the most memorable place I visited this year, especially if you count the uber-turbulent flight we had there on bad weather. I also couldn't forget this place since this is where we made Baby Z, tee hee. I guess it was the powerful combination of nature and nurture that did us in :D Coron foremostly entices you with its lush beauty. One major activity here is island-hopping where you can enjoy the sea, the mountains and the islands in their full splendor. Must-visits are the some of the town's famous nature spots:Siete ... Happy holidays to one and all!

December 25, 2009 ·

Each year, the family tries to uphold certain Christmas traditions which makes it a much-looked forward to occasion among the kids. In the past, we've either spent it in a hotel or out of town. This year being meaningful enough, we've chosen to spend it at home. Meaningful because it's the first Christmas I'd spend with Mr. Z (since knowing each other in 2007) and it's his first time as well with the kids. We certainly left no stone unturned in loading the house with gifts, food and laughter. I started Christmas Eve on a high note, with a list of dishes for the ... Continue Reading...
