We live around the airport area so you can just imagine what an effort it is to go to Quezon City. It's like a probinsya to us Southerners, lol. Needless to say, I go to QC for special reasons like meeting long-lost friends or trying out a new resto. This time around, it's to taste something heavenly at Afters Espresso & Desserts which is getting known for its must-try gelato! We were invited to the place by the dapper owner Vince Lim Fideles who has a rather interesting story on how he started the business. He is a software developer by profession but admits to ... Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden in Pattaya, Thailand
We had a nice family vacation in Pattaya, Thailand the first time but we didn't really get to see the town since we stayed the whole time in the sprawling Royal Cliff Beach Hotel which was quite far from the rest of civilization. I visited Pattaya again to say hello to 2017 and was finally able to feel the lively pulse of the place. Absolutely loved the cheap eats, the accessible transport and the beaches very near the hotel where one can commune with the rest of the sunbathing tourists. But perhaps the highlight was the day trip to Nong Nooch Botanical ... Continue Reading...
#JustinForTheWin as Costa Coffee holds Barista of the Year contest
Costa Coffee has always taken pride in its handcrafted coffee, so you can just imagine how the barista is king in this situation. Somehow, when you settle in your chair at Costa, you expect your drink to be a labor of love - where the staff behind the counter perfectly know their beans, temperature and even the hand motions required to make the perfect cup. The piece of good news is that Justin Dela Fuente, a barista representing Costa Coffee Philippines recently emerged champion in the Southeast Asia and Indian leg of the annual Barista of the Year (BOY) ... Shopping at Paylesser Philippines
Shopping has never reached its peak than during the Christmas holiday just past. It was truly an expensive season that ate up whatever bonuses we earned or savings we had. That's because gift-giving is a much-revered tradition and we aim to please our loved ones as much as we can. We believe, however, that shopping shouldn't be a pointless, useless exercise. As a practical mom, am always on the lookout for ways to save me money. That is why am patient enough to scour places like Divisoria or wait for the high-end brands in malls to announce their sales. Great ... Continue Reading...
Bouillabaisse recipe : hard to pronounce, but easy to cook
It was an event in December I was truly excited about, a "supermarket raid" organized by new food brand Contadina. Yes, the one with Nigella Lawson as an ambassador. Our bunch of bloggers were told to gather early at Robinsons Selections in Venice Piazza Mall with instructions clear beforehand. Keep in mind a tomato-based recipe using Contadina as one of the ingredients and shop for the needed stuff in the supermarket. Needless to say, everyone was in an upbeat mood. Like most moms, grocery shopping is a therapy for me. I get a kick out of scouting for new ... Continue Reading...
