Pinoys aren't really a pie-eating people. I don't mean pizza but PIE. We love our burgers, pastas, steaks, noodles, adobo...but pies? The nearest thing to what I'm referring to is probably our empanada but it's different in terms of texture & shape and is more Spanish than anything. Pies are a another matter in Australia because it's akin to being a national dish. It's a good thing that one of the leading pie-makers Down Under has set up shop in Manila, with their maiden branch in MOA or the Mall of Asia. And the name is Pie Face... As you can see, they don't ... Continue Reading...

If you love Korean food and pop culture like me, you'll surely be delighted with the news that their No. 1 pizza chain has opened its maiden store in Greenbelt 3 Makati City. Among these are egg tart, cream cheese, Cheddarella and the bestselling Gold which is made from sweet potato. Moreover, they take pride in the fact that their pizzas are ... Continue Reading...
Parque Espana Residence Hotel in Alabang : a review
Parque Espana Residence Hotel in Alabang is kinda off the radar but some people would consider it a boon that it's in a quiet, still uncrowded location. Also, the area of this hotel is fast developing. There are big outlets of McDonalds & Jollibee nearby and it's just across Commercenter building with its hip row of new bars & restaurants. So yes, this made us happy campers here two weeks ago. Our five-year old Lucia was the happiest. She's really loving these weekend staycations and excitedly expects it to be a regular occurrence. Said she: "We're doing this every ... Continue Reading...
#Powerpout cervical campaign launched by GSK
As a member of Generation X, I've grieved over a few people known or close to me who've died a little earlier than expected, of such causes as heart attacks and the dreaded CA. At this stage in life, health is a paramount concern. We can never eat too much, drink excessively or enjoy things with abandon because we're going to pay for it, sooner or later. Among women, cervical cancer is of special interest because it is second only to breast cancer in being the leading cause of death for Pinays. We were there when GSK Philippines launched their Put On Your Power ... Continue Reading...
