Am giving away Torque phones!

October 7, 2012 ·

It has been a long time since I sponsored giveaways in this space. And now, I found a valid reason to do so. I just wrote my 1500th post! Imagine that! It took me almost a decade to so... I've been blogging for eight long years, tee hee. It gives me reason enough to celebrate. Am glad that there's my suki, the mobile phone company Torque, to be ready with their freebies when needed. I like TORQUE. First, because of their price point (really affordable). Second, their no-frills phones do the job, they're durable! In case you don't know they have these Android tablets ... What we ate in Bicol

October 7, 2012 ·

I love Bicolano food (spicy, often cooked with coconut milk) and I was glad to get a sampling .... in Bicol itself. First stop was Sibid Sibid Food Park which was near our hotel. This came highly recommended, and true enough, the food didn't disappoint. Servings were generous too, at a reasonable price. I feasted on this Tinutongang Hanit (mud crab with smoked coco milk & coco heart which was only P195 per serving (crabs are otherwise much more expensive in Manila.) I was surprised this dish wasn't spicy. Still, I savored every taste even though eating this ... Continue Reading...

Hotel St. Ellis : a gem in Legazpi City

October 7, 2012 ·

After a nightmare of a bus ride, we were happy enough to check in at Hotel St. Ellis on Rizal St. Legazpi City. The inviting lobby bathed in soft hues didn't disappoint me, and more so when I saw the bedroom. This is their standard room which looked regal enough. I agree with one of the commenters in Foursquare who said " Beware of their pillows and bed, you might not want to get up for your early flight." There's something about the pillows in the room - so comfy! I guess the only thing that works against the room is that it doesn't have a bath tub. Also, I ... Continue Reading...

Bicol Express train : the review

October 5, 2012 ·

We made a lightning trip to Bicol a few weeks ago. Part of the crazy plan was to go by land ( even though we pretty much live beside the airport). Here it went: bus to Legaspi City (10 hours!) and on the way back, catch the night Bicol Express train departing from Naga (which is about 2 hours from Legaspi). In EDSA Pasay, we caught the DLTB Bus to Legaspi which turned out to be hellish. It didn't help that we were at the tailend of the bus which advertised itself as having wi-fi but really had none! Ride was so bumpy all throughout that I actually savored the ... Continue Reading...

NBI e-clearance & online application

October 5, 2012 ·

The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) recently launched their e-clearance or electronic clearance system. Basically, this means that we can now easily apply for that much needed NBI clearance via the official website https://nbi-online.com/login However, applicants will still have to NBI's crowded office in Taft Avenue, Manila or accredited processing centers for fingerprint scanning & image capture. Basically, the online application just cuts through your waiting time and makes the process faster since you can do some steps in the comfort of your own home or ... Continue Reading...
