What I probably didn't tell you is that this blog turned 7 years old last July. And of course, maybe you can guess what am thinking: "I feel old!" My baby daughter is way younger than this blog which has been witness to my zany and mundane experiences all these years. I remember my first post, the post I made for the sake of being Googled ... and yes, I can write stuff like this too...more stuff that makes me say OMG...the runaway groom and what happened to the brokenhearted bride... memorable travels..... ETC! Honestly, I have this fear that I might just wake ... Continue Reading...
Lovin’ my Hed Kandi
As a listener, I prefer headphones over earphones. What about you? Whether at the gym or just plain strutting to music on my iTunes at home, I like it when my listening device fits snugly over my head. Somehow, I feel a sense of security when I do this. Earphones tend to fall over my ears and I have this habit of pressing them in for tightness. Not the most comfortable feeling in the world :D Of course am lucky that am not wearing glasses that will obstruct how the headphone is secured in the back of my head. Recently, I got a Discotheque headphone from Hed ... Continue Reading...
Greek cooking class by Chef Robby Goco at The Maya Kitchen: priceless!
.... and so it came to pass that the Greek cooking class by chef-patron Robby Goco that I attended two Saturdays ago at The Maya Kitchen was the best one I've had this year! Chef Robby's kitchen anecdotes were simply too engaging and the recipes he shared too absorbing that even a toilet break was a luxury. He really should teach more cooking classes, and attending his cooking class is a must if you're a fan of his Greek restaurant chain Cyma or that great burger house Charlie's Grind & Grill! The good thing with this chef: he shares as much as he can what he ... Continue Reading...
Maxims Tower at Resorts World Manila: a high-tech hotel
I've always been curious about the Maxims Tower beside the Marriott Hotel in Resorts World Manila. With all of the rooms consisting of spacious suites, it is reportedly the only six-star hotel in the Philippines. Thanks to friends from the hotel industry, we were able to do an ocular of the hotel last night (with a mental note to check in here in the future). With all the space and gleaming furniture, I couldn't help but say the place is massive and impressive indeed. If am not mistaken, the regular suite at Maxims is 48 square meters. They're fitted with basic ... Continue Reading...
Purefoods Premiere Deli Club at Chef Jessie, Rockwell
Cooking moms will be glad to know that Purefoods now has a Premiere Deli Club offering premium franks and cold cuts that were once only available in upscale (read: expensively-priced) delicatessens. The good thing is that the premium items are now sold in your friendly supermarkets nationwide, making the products like bologna, German franks and even smoked turkey franks more accessible than ever. We had a glimpse of the many ways you can do magic with processed meat during a launch event at Chef Jessie located at the Rockwell Club last week. For example, you can ... Continue Reading...
