This is what we've seen this year: With more and more people relying on the web world wide web for information, publicists will have no choice but to network with bloggers to help them spread the news. Worthy mentions in blog posts now comprise the "media mileage" PRs hope to get in behalf of their clients, and for good measure. Here's the first part of my self-proclaimed guide on dealing with b-l-o-g-g-e-r-s (because am a former publicist-turned-blogger): :P 1. Familiarize yourself with the workings of the blogosphere. Know who is who, what is what; read up ... Continue Reading...
The past week: plugs and pictures
Too tired & knackered to blog. While I try to get back to regular programming, kindly allow me to post the following plugs and pictures: Melo Villareal's Lakbay Pilipinas blog is giving some readers a chance to win a limited edition free copy of Jessica Zafra's Twisted Travels. The rules are simple: Just comment on the post, blog about it, Stumble it!, and/or contribute at least two articles to the blog. Why am I doing this? Because I want my copy too! :P Thanks in advance Melo:) Zee has clued me in on this interesting contest by Nestle Philippines on how Nescafe ... Continue Reading...
Presscon, class reunion, despedida etc.
My social calendar has been full. First on the agenda was the class reunion of our UST AB Journalism Batch XX in Benjo's Makati Condo. We had fun recalling old times, loading on red wine, singing to death and yours truly was endlessly being teased "Juju, may boobs ka na?!" (gosh, may kambal pa nga eh). Carol even brought her old albums reminiscent of padded shoulders, Kung Fu shoes and Aqua Net hairspray. .A big shout-out to our batchmates living abroad: please make your presence felt and join our YahooGroups ... Hot chocolate for the rainy days
Photo-0586 One good thing about Facebook: I can ask my friends all sorts of questions and they will happily answer. Here's my query this weekend: "what do you love to do when it's cold and raining?" (it's not what you think :P) Nina: burrowing under the covers and sleeping in. Then getting up and eating hot and very sour bowl of sinigang and tuyo Vicky: i just love watching the raindrops fall on my porch, observing the surroundings get moist and damp and watching the water flow into the drain.... Tess: Cuddle up with someone special :-) Awww...but I ... Continue Reading...
A session with a stylist
Photo-0613e I've always envied girls born with long straight hair. God didn't give me such an asset ..mine has natural curls which require the magic of some ironing tool or blow-drying in order to look flawless. In my previous previous office, some guy who must have been Blackwell in his past life needlessly asked me "is it windy outside???" Yes, that must have been me - the distressed girl with the shoddy hair in the shampoo commercial - if you get my drift. Thankfully, I was able to find a good hairstylist in David's Salon this year until my friend James ... Continue Reading...
