It's barely three weeks before Christmas and some of us are already planning which festive, delectable food will grace our tables. Learn from the expert as Maya Kitchen's Elite Culinary Series presents chef Sau Del Rosario in a Noche Buena special tomorrow, December 5, from 9am to 1pm. First look & review of Golden Phoenix Hotel Manila
This establishment is still on its soft opening stage but I just wanted to give you first dibs on Golden Phoenix Hotel Manila. We had an overnight stay here recently and I just loved its location and how NEW everything is! My verdict is that it's a four-star hotel with a five-star level of elegance and comfort. Price-wise, this can only be good for us, customers, since that would mean we get value for our money :) Golden Phoenix Hotel Manila is situated in Sunrise Drive of Central Business Park in Macapagal Boulevard, Pasay City. I really wouldn't know where it's ... Continue Reading...
Olango Island: a good day trip from Mactan, Cebu
A visit to Olango Island makes a good alternative if you're tired of the usual beach-hopping around Mactan and beyond. In fact, you can make this trip for a little under 500 pesos per person.Olango is quite known for being a bird watcher's paradise and for their marine sanctuary. I would call the Olango trip as my first real adventure with my 5 year old daughter Lucia. We rode three means of transport: tricycle, motorcycle and outrigger boat. In return, she ... The long APEC holiday found me in the province of Cebu to avoid Manila's traffic, road closures and no-fly zones.I am not really excited about Cebu City since it reminds me so much of MNL with its malls and rush hour gridlocks. My game plan for this trip was to head to the islands and see the beach. Am so glad I did that...and so much more! 'More' in this case meant the part where I went swimming with the whale sharks in Oslob. Most people who have been there say it's a surreal experience. I wholeheartedly agree!!! The dictionary defines surreal as seemingly ... Continue Reading...
Adventures of Kuya Kim, now on Android!
Two weeks ago, we were lucky to catch up over breakfast with Kuya Kim Atienza who had just conquered the New York marathon. He has always been one of our fitness idols. If you know his story, Kuya Kim suffered a stroke years back but that wasn't enough to discourage him. He changed his lifestyle, went into sports - particularly running - and now crosses finish line after finish line. He's getting ready for the Tokyo Marathon on Feb. 28, as we speak! As a host and weather anchor, he's now known for sporting The Hat (the one am wearing in this photo). And over his ... Continue Reading...
