Condos are being built with the blink of an eye, not just in Manila but in other Philippine cities as well. With structures rising vertically instead of horizontally, living spaces are becoming smaller. Unfortunately, prices are also becoming more expensive with every limited square meter. Urban dwellers are literally living in a box these days and obviously this calls for smarter space solutions.Until I attended the launch of the ErgoHome showroom at the Mall of Asia recently, I never thought that you can magically transform your condo unit by having the kind of ... Our Easter stay at Privato Hotel & a review
We normally don't go out of town during the Holy Week/Easter break. It is because I dread the diaspora of people in airports, bus terminals and highways. The strategy is to stay in a part of Manila that we have yet to discover...this is after all a big city! And so, this is how we found ourselves in Privato Hotel Mandaluyong during the last holiday. The hotel rate was quite reasonable for only P1,800 net per night on Deal Grocer. For this, we got their Deluxe Double room which was reasonably spacious at 28 sq.m. and had two queen-sized beds. Checking in was a ... Continue Reading...
Ryan Agoncillo for Panadol
If you ask his children Yohan and Lucho, Ryan Agoncillo is a Superman. That's because he can juggle a multitude of roles - not only as a father and husband but also as an actor, host, cyclist and tri-athlete. But even Superman needs all the strength he can muster. Ryan admits that he's just human and feels sick sometimes. For those moments when he experiences headaches and pain, the TV star is thankful there's Panadol to the rescue. "My family will always be my top priority and I don’t let any kind of discomfort get in the way of spending quality time with my ... Continue Reading...
Ramen Daisho in Shaw Blvd. hits the spot
We were just in Manila staying in a hotel for the Easter break and am glad I finally found the time to try Ramen Daisho in Liberty Center along Shaw Blvd. Mandaluyong City. Way back in 2014, there was a list of Manila's best ramen restos drawn up by a Japanese and Ramen Daisho held the No. 2 spot. After tasting their offerings, I can very well say Daisho deserves its ranking. Too bad they're not so accessible location-wise, but maybe they will expand soon? My friends know it: am thrilled when I try something new: be it a place, some food or an experience. Ramen ... Continue Reading...
Hot spring resorts in Pansol, Laguna : Splash Mountain
It's been ages since I went to Pansol, Laguna! This place is famous for being the Hot Spring Resort Capital of the Philippines and its advantage is that it's very near Manila. One Sunday, I finally summoned the mood to drive down there since the kids always like playing in the water.Without traffic, one can reach Pansol in less than two hours. You know you've arrived when you see all these floaters and other water fun gear on the road. We didn't have any reservations. Gladly, one can take a pick from the assortment of resorts lining the highway. Our first stop ... Continue Reading...
